I should have all kinds of things to talk about… We went to Lynn’s wedding last week, and had a three day weekend to do whatever… But, in the end, my mind is wrapped around Pan’s Labyrinth. We just got done watching it… Wow! Talk about intense!
The big news of the weekend… Summer lost her first tooth. She was quite distressed trying to eat corn on the cob. She was staying away from the tooth that had been bothering her. So, when she finally made a mistake and dug in to get a bite, it was all over. She started getting squeamish when I suggested pulling it the rest of the way out, so I ended up tricking her and knocking it out with a brush of my finger across it.
Even after seeing a little blood… She was quite pleased by this event. See the picture in the Picasa album for May. She put the tooth in a box over her bed tonight. Lets see what the tooth fairy brings in these days for a tooth!
We went and saw Shrek 3 today… Not as bad as I had expected, but still not as good as the first movie. The kids seemed to enjoy it. We went through 3 giant tubs of popcorn before it was all over!
I picked up an external hard drive today… Goal: unload all of the old Handycam video tapes onto the computer. Wish me luck.
Attempted to clean the gutters and fix holes in the crappy “Gutter Guard” system we have… That was fun. I don’t have a ladder to reach the 2nd floor gutters, so I had to settle with a step ladder on the porch roof, and then climb daintily up (Being that the porch rooves have an incline). Well, you have not lived until you stretch yourself out over the edge of your ladder, just to remove a downspout that does not even have a blockage! &@#! That was thrilling. I did make some corrections to make sure birds cannot get in… When it rained this morning… I found out that all my adjustments ended up making the rain miss the gutters almost completely. Brilliant! I guess I will be back up there again soon!
New projects that are coming up:
- Continuation of the pasture fence. We are going to get machinery this time… No more 300 feet at a time. This times its serious!
- Scraping and painting the front porch. Now that I have a roof that doesn’t leak, we can start fixing that back up.
