I don’t have much time to write tonight… We made it to La Bonheur early this morning. It wasn’t till 8:45 +/- that Summer was taken to surgery.
I updated the Facebook page throughout the day, evening, and nighttime. It went that long.
12 hours later we got to see Summer again.
I will tell you, this surgery, as much as we were ready and hoping for an easier recovery… Is far harder than the emergency surgery in Champaign.
When we received Summer after her lengthy surgery at CARLE… We had a daughter who was barely conscious, vomiting uncontrollably, and hardly had a memory of any of it. But tonight in Memphis, I have a daughter who is VERY conscious and in pain and is crying that it hurts.
And I know she will remember it.
Tough night… A tough couple of days ahead.
She has her spirit and the nurses all love her attitude. She will get through this.
I will try to write more tomorrow, Nate and I will be relieving Angela in the morning.
Hi, Honey. So glad the doctors got rid of that awful, awful tumor. Remember that Grandma Linda loves you very, very much and so does Jesus.
It sounds like this surgeon is exceptional with the MRIs during surgery. Such a long day for everyone. I pray her pain will ease so she can rest. I continue to ask God for help for her every night.
Hi Summer, You are in loving hands and wow, what a strong woman. Nothing about this is easy but i’m so happy you have family and friends that love you very much. Back at SIU the Honors Program is rooting for you and (i know im speaking on behalf of everyone) but we all are sending you love and healing.
Summer,
The surgery is over! The worse is behind you. Each day now will get better. So many are praying and thanking the Lord for His love and comfort for you. Take care.
