OK, I need to post something about Linda, Angela’s Mom.
Today, I was visiting her in her “skilled care facility,” and she was talking about a visitor she had today. Her friend told her that the rumor going around is that Linda had a stroke… And was in a nursing home.
How terrible!
Linda is her own person, and I felt out of place making any public posts about her health, but I want to let people know what’s going on.
A few weeks ago, I got a call at work. It was Linda. She sounded in distress, but wanted me to get hold of Angela… She wouldn’t tell me anymore. Fortunately, I got through to Angela at work and told her to call her Mom. Within a few minutes, Angela called me back and confirmed my concern. Linda had fallen, and she was in pain.
Angela and I rushed to Linda’s place in Delavan and figured out very quickly that this was above our pay grade. We called 911 and asked for some help getting her to the ER. Delavan ESDA was there in minutes, and most of the team knew her. Over the next 24 hours, she went from Pekin ER to Proctor/Midwest Orthopedics for inspection, diagnosis, and ultimately a hip surgery.
Initially, everything had been going along decently, but she had a setback as her hip has popped out twice since surgery. This is not normal, and it sounds like another surgery for a full hip replacement is in her future.
That stinks… I know she wants to be home as soon as possible. If you know Linda… You know she has places to be and people to see. She is a mover, and this is the least she has moved since I met her 30 years ago!
Linda will likely be laid up for another couple of weeks… So, if you want to visit her or send a card, reach out to me or Angela, and we can share her contact information.
I have not posted any pictures on my Facebook in a while because she needs a haircut!!! If you know Linda… You know she will not take a picture until she gets her hair done! So, we have worked that out, and hopefully we have some more updates soon.
Thank you to everyone who has visited her already!!!
I talked to her on the phone yesterday and she told me where she’s at. By today, I couldn’t remember for sure the name of the facility. Remind me, please, so I can send her a card.
Terrible news, I’m so sorry to hear this! Prayers that Linda can get this taken care of soon!
