I had to post something!!! You all might get the impression that I have given up the site. I hate to lay blame on lack of posting… But I really think that this iPad thingy, in conjunction with Facebook are stealing my mental resources. Normally my brain would be required to put together a paragraph using this site. Facebook only requires one goofy sentence at a time. Any more than that… And you risk losing your audience! Also, this home computer is on its last leg… A new computer is on its way, thanks to an early Christmas present from Ang.
We have been fairly busy over the past few weeks/month… Iowa for Thanksgiving… Chicago for the Ringling Brothers Circus… St. Louis for the Zoo.
Did that count as 2 paragraphs?
Oh, the whole reason for logging on tonight… Aiden wanted to try his hand at cooking dinner. Mind you, cooking dinner for a rushed family via a 7 year old means making the staple of any Midwestern family diet. Mac and Cheese! (the real stuff, not that generic foul tasting stuff. Yeah, there is a difference!)
He almost got the burner fired up. He did get the noodles going. Watched me drain the noodles. Stirred in the lump of yellow oil that we call butter around here. And then mixed in the milk and cheese powder.
It all turned out perfect. Inevitably… He asked me the “Question”.
“Was it better than Summer’s?” I told him that it was cooked perfectly. Just as Summers had been. I went on to inform them both that I will be saving my Michelin ratings for their home-cooked meals in the future!
