I am still fuzzy on the dates, but I know we didn't start this till late Spring.  I had meant to take the dining room on by itself.  But like everything else in this house, it all seems related to other rooms, so you cant just stop with one room.  Above is the humble beginnings on March 16th.

Why did we start this?  Check the cross section above.  You will see that the homeowners years ago ignored a serious bug problem.  Namely Termites!  While the last homeowner did he duty in restoring walls, and framing, he did not get concerned with Oak flooring that covered the entire downstairs.  They just had it covered in carpet.

These are just a few before shots of the fixtures in the dining room.

Wood trim after it has dealt with "The Timinator"!

More humble beginnings on the floor.

Now the action continued into the other first floor rooms!  May/June 2000

That's the dining room off in the distance.  The flooring was intertwined through all the rooms.  So, it was just a matter of time before all the rooms became a disaster area. Gutted Living room Gutted Foyer What do you do with all your furniture?  You put it in the only finished room of the house!  The new Kitchen.  Let me tell ya, that was a long 2 months.  Poor Summer was just learning how to walk, and we could not let her play on the floor!

Once you get started, you need a finish line.

I was happy pretending that I could do this all by myself.  Fortunately, Ang called around, and found a flooring contractor who helped us get the installation sped along.  What was our finish line?  Summer's First Birthday.  We barely made it!  We made sure to plan the party for the week after her actual B-Day.  As I recall, we needed every hour we could get!  In the end, it all turned out great.  I will add a few pics here later of the finished product.
