Linda read this article in the Peoria Journal Star.
This is my Grandfathers Cousin that is being talked about. They lived next door to us on Hickory Street in Fairbury. I used to water his grass and generally poke around with Howard when I was delivered his paper.
He had a mountain of old tools in the basement of their house. Good to see that something is being done with them. It was generous of Berni to donate them.

Summer toughed it out yesterday and had 3 teeth pulled at the dentists office. Last week at her bi-annual check up they said that she needs to see an orthodontist immediately! Ang argued… But that went nowhere… He said she had to deal with this now.
Ortho said, “She needs 3 teeth removed…. Immediately!” Summer did not like the sound of that!
Ang and I laid down a smokescreen so that Summer would not know that she was having the teeth pulled on Monday. That way she could enjoy her weekend.
30 minutes at the office, and she was done.
They only gave her some numbing shots and some nitrous gas. After it was over… I asked about pain killers or prescription meds… Dentist said not to worry about it.
Sure enough, after a mopey morning… You would not even know that she had the teeth pulled. She was fine. Except for a bit of a speech impediment!

Took this picture of a cicada molting on a tree at our house. Unfortunately… He had a bad exit from his shell… And was hanging precariously.

This summer just keeps getting better and better. July 25th… And the high was 80 degrees. Wow!
So, as ususual… I have more bike riding to report on. Today, we took a short trip to Bloomington and road 10 miles on the Constitution trail. Pretty good… It gets a little caught up in traffic when we got into town. So, that is a drag.
Here is the GPS track (Becuase I AM the biggest geek you know)

Also this weekend… I am restoring the chairs that Grandpa Dan made for us back in 2001. They are faded from the sun… And some of the filler covering some screws has popped out. Below is a “before” picture… Along with a pic of his “trademark”

Dan and I did an American Pale Ale kit last night at the house. Ang was kind enough to let up dirty up the kitchen.
It was a VERY nice evening, and we had all the windows open… So, the smell was not that bad… Until you went upstairs… Oh man! It carries!
Look for our brew in a few months.

Busy GPS month. Summer and Ang rode at McNaughton park in Pekin on Saturday.
We went to a birthday party last night at a pool… Here is a bad picture that I kinda liked.

More fun with GPS! Ang wears this when she is doing competitive rides to keep track of the horses heart rate. This is farmdale park in Morton IL during last weeks Endure for the Cure. This is the same track that Summer took when she won the race.
