Went back to old Fairbury last night to hang out with the class of Prairie Central 1989… What a letdown!!! There were like 20 people there! Out of 124 graduates (119 still living) that is a pretty poor showing.
Some highlights of the night were hearing Zach Storks recollections of the 1980’s when classes were sharing their high school memories. One guy, from a class I dont recall started railing on our economy being in shambles and how its probably Barack Obama’s fault… Please! I am no fan of Barak… But I certainly dont need to hear about current problems in a speech from the class of 59 or whatever!
So, it was a mixed bag. The banquet winded down, and they fired up the DJ… God I hate DJ’s. Here comes the ACDC and other crap blaring… And we are all yelling at each other… I dont feel like this is an age thing… I like loud music… But, it was obvious that nobody was dancing… So, what was the point? Turn it down a few notches Wolfman Jack!
We headed over to an after-party at Tammy Bennet’s house (Nice place!) and had a beers with some folks who did not go to the banquet. Glad I did that… Got to catch up with a few more people.
Above: This was my 20 year… But this was also Grandma Stahl’s 60th and Sylvia Penrods 40th. Kinda cool huh?
Afterthoughts: The poor attendance really bugged me. I am not a big fan of these things… But I think that we may need to reconsider how this is all organized. Maybe have a big party in Bloomington to something the day of the event. Something that is a mix of family and adult fun. Just a thought… See me in 5 years to see if I still care!

I love how the state has these phoney groups calling for more “revenue” for the state! Groups chanting for more benefits and raises…
Folks… I dont know where you work… Or what you do… But as someone who works at a car dealer… I feel lucky to have a job… Plus, I have seen my income go DOWN over the past 2 years! When was the last time the union negotiated that for teachers or state employees?
NEVER! Even if they dont get a new contract… And make the same for 5 years… They are still not backsliding.
I say cut payrolls… Have people take paycuts like small business owners and sales people. THEN, and only then will I support any kind of “Revenue Generation”.

What I failed to mention in the last post: I have had a dry basement for about 5 years… I sometimes see some dampness… But water on the North-side of the house is unheard of at our place… So, that makes my timing with the floor that much more “Murphy’s Law”.
I ran a dehumidifier overnight… and when I went downstairs to check it… It had overflowed… Or the hose was clogged.. Or something… So, all the wetness on the north side of the basement that was just about dissipated… Was now running on the floor at the other end…
Did I mention my shop vac started smoking…. And my work light burnt out during all this???
On a high note… We sold the 4Runner to tonight! A little less than I would have wanted… But, we made enough to buy a Wii and a few games… Aiden and I were already plotting our purchases.
Lesson learned from selling a car myself??? Just pay the money and place it on Autotrader… I had it sold in one week on there… Craigslist was a waste of time!

Yeah!!! Isn’t this great??? I just redid my basement this winter… And now we get inches and inches of rain in May. The result… I have a soggy corner of my new floor. At this point… I peeled back some tile (Smart to get the removable kind!) and have been using the shop vac to pull water. I will get out a fan and dehumidifier tonight after I close the windows.
Ang found her wrist GPS… Here is her track this morning from riding at Sandridge Forrest.

We are having a cookout this afternoon in celebration of the event… So, I need to get working on this yard! We still dont have our Cub Cadet back. Gotta love that piece of junk!
Working on an ad for the 4Runner this morning. Gonna bite the bullet and do an Autotrader ad. I have been dinking around with free ads for months. Lets see if paying for an ad helps!

Ummmm… Little late to this DVD! The Talking Heads made a music concert movie before it was even cool to do such a thing… Like in the 80’s!!! I have no excuse for never seeing it before tonight!
Let me just say that I missed something by not seeing this years ago! Man… David Byrne is getting all new respect from me. The guy should have been a track star along with being a musician! I have never seen somebody work that hard on stage!
Back to real world stuff…
Aidens foot is healing fast. He’s like Wolverine! (Timely movie reference!) He just had the surgery last Friday… And I looked at it tonight… You would swear it was healed! WILD! He gets the stitches out next Monday.
