Too much stuff going on around here!

We had gone to property auction last Saturday morning.  The big stretch of irrigated land went for over 6000.00 an acre…  That was a lot of cabbage!  We had thrown in a bid on the lower eastern stretch by the river… But it went plenty higher than I was willing to spend on land that is not really that usable for us.   A large bulk of land in CRP went for 2500.00 an acre… And had we known it would go that low…  Well, we might have had some lending lined up!  As it turned out… Our neighbor bought it… So, its not all bad!

The kids had a carnival at the church/school on Friday.  It went pretty well… I have learned my lesson…  Let them go crazy on the rides and games… And then we go down to the TV room, eat popcorn, watch a movie and chill for a half an hour before heading home…  No more screaming, yelling and fighting on the way home… It was kinda mellow!

More stuff for sale!!!  A sign of the economy? 

Anyone need a 1997 4Runner?  To go with a horse trailer?  Ha Ha!

Watched Mama Mia with Ang tonight…  What a silly silly movie!  My God!  Complete nonsense!

Ang got a new one… When she got a new horse!  So, we have that old one for sale.

Just got him back today from the trainers…  He still cant get out of a trailer!

Barack just flew over the dealership…  We seem to be getting a lot of play with the Presidents here in Peoria!

On Saturday afternoon I sat down and started to read the paper…  Then turned on the TV.   The movie, The Sixth Sense was on the local fox stations matinee.

Within a few minutes… Summer came in to check out what I was watching.  At that point… Bruce Willis was sitting with Haley Joel Osmant and had just heard the big secret…  “I see dead people.”

Summer digests this few minutes of the movie… And then says “That guy is probably dead.”

I wanted to smack my head like a V8 commercial.

First off… When I come to work on a Saturday… I turn on the Food Network.  It is much more pleasant to see food being made in the waiting room than CNN Headline news!  Talk about a downer!!!

Can someone please show me how to seer meat?  I passed by the TV today and they were pan searing a giant hunk of meat.  Now, every time I have tried to seer anything…  I get a fire alarm going off in the kitchen!

2nd thought of the day:  Why don’t we send drunken sailors to Washington?  Seems to me that they might have more restraint with spending our money.

Ang and I tried to buy the house and a lump of the woods to the west of it this past summer…  But there was a lot of confusion in trying to make an offer (Understatement of the year) …  So, I am glad to see this is going up to bid. 

Here is a picture I took from Google Earth.  The yellow outlined areas are the auction tract that I have tried to recreate.  The river at the bottom is the Mackinaw.  The Pushpin the upper right is our house on Christmas Tree Rd.
