Ang went riding this weekend… We had a nice break in the weather.  Summer and her rode 7 miles… And Ang commented that Summer rode wonderfully by herself.  Nice!

My “new” old tractor was not doing so well when went to start it this past week.  And that compounds all kinds of other issues!

I went to start it…  And it was dead.  No worries… I will just jump it!  Well… It could barely turn over with the Avalon running the charge. I fiddled with it for a hour trying to get the glow plug warm, and then turning it over…  It would not go.  Then… The starter locked up!  It was smoking and making a funky noise!  THATS BAD NEWS!  So, I turned off the ignition.. Still locked up and running…  Then had to pull the jumper cables. 

A few minutes later I tried it again… The starter was still stuck.  tapped on it a few times with a hammer (That’s what we do at Toyota) and it still was not releasing. 

At this point, I was reserved to start looking at Starters online.  On a whim I decided to pull the starter and take it to the neighbors.  Del went crazy tearing it down.  After cleaning out some caked on oil from the terminals inside…  It appeared to be ready to go.  I went home… Reinstalled it…  Charged the battery…  And BOOM!  It started!!!!  WOW!  That was cool!

So, I let it run to charge the battery…  For like an hour…  Then went to restart it..  It was dead…  So, I am thinking I have a bad alternator!  GEEZE!

Next up… The washing machine started smoking and making a loud noise…  Details later!

He who has no name

We don’t have a name yet… But its looking like it will be Marco or Zeppo. Other names in consideration are Rush, Journey or Hitchcock. No, she is not naming them after old rock band names! There is some kind of horse riding reasoning to all of these. He did have a name before. It was Zip… And then some Arabian name. Its all beyond me.

Officially… Unnamed horse is a 1/2 Arabian, 1/2 Quarter Gelding. He is roughly 4 years old… Not saddle broke… Cannot figure out how to get out of a trailer… Snorts instead of winnieing (Spell checker does not have a clue on that one)… Is all brown with a white star on his head.

Doesn’t he sound perfect?

If anyone has been following along to this blog for the past few months… You might remember the caper where I lost Angela’s iPod.   Well, it wasnt really lost after Del (My Neighbor) found it on the roadside.  It took a quick trip on the roof of the car.  Flew off at the turn at the end of the road.  It was run over and pretty much destroyed.  I did sell it on ebay for 6 bucks!  In the end, I bought Ang a iPod to replace this mistake.

Why the recap? 

I did the same stupid thing to my 160gig iPod about 6 weeks ago.  I have been keeping it close to my chest because of the complete idiocy of it!  I did my best not to complain about not having it over the past few weeks… But it has been hard!!!!  I was relegated to an old Sony player.  No working display light…  I couldn’t listen to any of my purchased iTunes songs…  I could not listen to my Podcasts without going through 3 rings of Sony Soundstage software madness!

I didn’t need her permission to get a new one… But, I knew that it would be unfair for me to run out and buy a new one within days of losing this one… Especially after she waited a few weeks for hers to be replaced.

Last week Ang said… “You should replace that iPod”…  And that was all I needed!  I picked up a refurbished 160 model

So…  I am back to normal…  Finally…  The internal suffering can be exposed to the world!

Well… My guy, Bob Barr did not make a showing… And if I were a conspiracy theorist… I would swear that the Republicans begged the Independents not to take votes away from them.

As for Obama getting the win…   I am going to start unloading my 401K…  Cancel our Health Insurance…  Make vacation arrangements for Cuba…  And start dreaming of the ways to spend that big tax cut that will be coming our way!

I am adding a page to the site tonight for the House.  In the past… I have loved showing off the renovations we have done while living here… But when I turned the site into a blog, I kinda lost that in the shuffe. 

So, I am not sure how it will be organized… But Look for weekly changes and updates to old renovation projects.
